AGP gets shot in the arm, many youths join party

DIBRUGARH, April 4: More than 200 youths of Duliajan and its surrounding areas, headed by young businessman Dhruba Jyoti Baruah,   formally joined the Asom  Ga Parishad (AGP) at a meeting organized by Duliajan unit of AGP in association with Rogagora Gaon Panchayat, Tipling Gaon Panchayat  and Kothalguri Gaon Panchayat.

The meeting, held at Duliajan in Dibrugarh district on Friday, was presided over by the district AGP president, Pokon Baruah.  District secretary of the party, Putul Sonowal briefed all about the purpose and objective of the meeting.

The president and Secretary of Asom Yuba Parishad (AYP), the youth wing of the party, Sunil Rajkonwar and Mantu Saikia respectively, graced the meeting along with other senior leaders of the district committee.

The AGP central executive member, former chairman of the Dibrugarh Municipal Board, Dr Kamini  Ranjan Baruah, president, AGP Duliajan Regiol committee and president of Rongagorah Gaon Panchayat, Sarat Gogoi, party’s senior leader as well as the president of Duliajan unit of Asom tya Sanmmilan, Aditya Goswami and former AASU leader Hiteswar Phukan also attended the meeting.

Speakers, during their deliberation, flayed both the Central and State government for betraying the people with their false promises and much hyped commitments. They called upon all to give fitting reply to both Congress and BJP party through ballot in the 2016 assembly election.

Earlier, a large rally was brought out in the area under the leadership of district party president, Pokon Baruah and AYP president Sunil Rajkonwar.
