AGP to contest from Kaliabor, Barpeta & Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituencies: Atul Bora

New Delhi: After meeting the BJP National President Amit Shah at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leaders had announced that the party will be contesting for the Lok Sabha Elections from Kaliabor, Barpeta and Dhubri constituencies.

Speaking to the media, AGP leaders stated that they have decided the seats to contest in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections after having a discussion with the BJP president. "BJP has also promised us with another seat as per our request. However, it will be discussed in the coming days," said Asom Gana Parishad President, Atul Bora.

On the other hand, speaking about their stand on the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Atul Bora stated that their party is firm on their stand on the Bill.

The leaders of AGP and BJP earlier during a press conference at BJP office stated that both the allies will have a discussion on the matter CAB'16 with consensus and consultation after the Lok Sabha Elections.

It may be mentioned that AGP President Atul Bora was joined by BJP National Secretary Ram Madhav, NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma, AGP working president Keshab Mahanta among other senior leaders.
