Ailing girl attempts suicide

GOLAGHAT, May 3: In a shocking incident that took place at Golaghat Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital, a 14-year old girl tried to commit suicide by jumping off the first floor of the hospital on Thursday. According to reports, a girl of Podumoni Tea Estate was admitted four days ago in the hospital. Her family is financially poor and does not have the money to treat the ailing girl. She also was suffering from depression for several days, said family members. Family members also said that due to poverty and inability to bear the cost of proper treatment, the girl decided to commit suicide by jumping off from the first floor of the hospital building. Due to the fall, the girl suffered serious injuries on her head and waist and was admitted in the emergency ward of the same hospital.
