Air Force Schools Sports meet kicks off

Tezpur, July 9: The 11th edition of Eastern Air Command Air Force Schools Athletics and Sports Championship 2018 event was declared open by Air Com. S K Verma, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Jorhat today. An impressive opening ceremony was attended by all participants and personnel of the station. The event commenced with hoisting the teams flag followed by participants march past at station sports ground which was followed by an enthralling basketball match between AF School Hasimara and AF School Bagdogra. The championship is conducted from July 9 to 14 in various disciplines including athletics, basket ball, chess, table tennis, badminton and volley ball. A total of 125 students from different Secondary and Senior Secondary AF Schools under EAC are participating in the Championship which is being conducted for selection of team to represent EAC in All India Air Force Schools Athletics and Sports Championship 2018 scheduled to be held from August 27 to 31 at Air Force Station Jalahalli in Bengaluru.
