AIUDF blames BJP for price hike

GUWAHATI, May 23: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in a press meet on Wednesday in Guwahati blamed both the Centre and the State government for the constant price hike on essential commodities. The AIUDF general secretary Aminul Islam said, “The Centre and the State government have been equally failing in regulating and controlling the prices on petroleum products.” Taking the BJP back to their protest against price hike during the UPA regime, Aminul said that after occupying the reign in Delhi, the BJP has gone oblivion to their own promises and breaking all-time record increasing the prices on various essential commodities. Stating that there is a huge gap between the wholesale and the retail prices, Aminul further said that readily hiked prices by the traders on various goods even during various festive seasons indicates that the State has been laying down their arms to the corporate. Meanwhile, Islam appealed Dispur to drive all the Deputy Commissioners of the state to take vigil on the market in their respective jurisdictions to regulate the prices.
