Ajmal decries fuel price hike

Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 23: Crying foul on the rise in prices of diesel and petrol, AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal has said that the BJP-led government has failed to keep the assurances the party gave the people of the country in the run-up to the 2014 general elections.   In a statement issued to the press on Monday, Ajmal said: “For the past three years the prices of petrol and diesel have been rising. Such hikes in prices, in parallel with the rise in prices of essential commodities, have been affecting people of the country. The worst affected ones in such hikes in prices are the farmers of the country. Even as they never get remunerative prices of their produces, with the rise in prices they are facing problems while using fuels for agricultural purposes.”
