AJYCP demands action against drugs mafia

MARGHERITA, June 1: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regiol Committee had recently staged a protest at Ledo regarding the growing mece of drugs and other addictive substances at Margherita subdivision.

The student body had served a seven-day deadline to the Margherita administration to take necessary action against the drug mece but till today the Margherita administration has failed to check the drug mece, alleged Salil Neog and Kanchan Bora, president and general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee.

They alleged that drugs, opium, canbis and other addictive substances were rampantly found in Ketetong, Inthem, Pengree, Margherita town, Baragolai, Ledo Maulang Gaon and Jagun but the Margherita administration had not taken any strict action against the drugs mafia of Margherita subdivision.

“We warned the Margherita administration to take strict action against the persons who are involved in the business of drugs or AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee will be bound to take necessary action against this illegal drugs business,” they said.
