Itanagar, June 24: Taking serious note of the reported illegal mobilization of immigrants from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Myanmar, the All Kamle District Youth Association (AKDYA) has requested the district administration for immediate phase-wise verification of Inner Line Permits (ILP) in the entire district. In a three-point representation submitted to the Kamle Deputy Commissioner, the association stated that "phase-wise check of ILPs in the entire district is the need of the hour to check the influx of illegal immigrants".

Meanwhile, the association, on June 20 last carried out the first phase of its ILP verification drive from Surya to Kemliko village, covering the district headquarters Raga under the theme "Operation Clean Drive".

During the drive, hundreds of non-Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribes without valid ILPs and 27 suspected immigrants without any proof of Indian citizenship were found. They were later handed over to the police and magistrate for further course of action.
