AASU staged a dhar in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, here, today. The three-hour long dhar was staged owing to the negligence shown by the district administration towards the hailstorm and cyclone affected persons. Similar demonstrations have been staged simultaneously in all other districts of the state, today. They also want that the prices of essential commodities should be lessened so that people from the rural areas can afford buying them. The protesters wanted the storm and hit areas and affected persons should be provided with all basic facilities at a minimum cost so that they can again start leading their normal life. It will some take time for the people to come to terms with normalcy. The demonstration was carried out under Ainul-haq Choudhury, convener, All Assam Students’ Union.
