All Assam Students Union Stages Sit-In Protest In Biswanath District

Biswanath Chariali: A two hour long sit-in demonstration programme was carried out by Gohpur AASU on Friday in front of the government bus station protesting the deplorable condition of National Highway 15 from Gohpur town to Buroi bridge in Biswanath district.

Later, the student body submitted a memorandum to the chairman of National Highway Authority of India under government of India through the SDO (Civil) of Gohpur and urged the authority to take immediate measures to repair the highway.

They mentioned in the memorandum that the deplorable condition of the said road had made the lives of the common men miserable and it had also led to frequent accidents along the road. They also threatened to observe a 15-hour long road blockade programme if the NH 15 is not repaired by May 5.
