All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students’ Association Felicitates HS Exam Rank Holders

Silchar: All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students’ Association (ACKHSA) felicitated rank holders of Higher Secondary examination 2019 at a function held at Gandhi Bhawan on Saturday. The function was graced by the presence of Assistant Commissioner of Cachar Abhilash Baranwal, IAS, Dr Biswatosh Choudhury, head, Department of Bengali, Assam University, Silchar, Suprabir Duttaroy, examination controller, Assam University, Silchar, Shahinara Begum Laskar, president, Assam University Teachers’ Association, Dr Sujit Kumar Nandi Purkayastha, former principal, Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Parveen Sultana Laskar, principal, Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Silchar, Jaya Deb, principal, South Point High School, Silchar, Rupam Nandi Purkayastha, advisor, central committee, ACKHSA, Sahidur Rahman, general secretary, ACKHSA and Nikita Banik of ACKHSA.

Rank holders, Ashim Sarkar, Brinda Roy and Daisy Pathak, were handed over certificates of appreciation, gift items and bouquets. The ceremony was compered by Debanjan Mukherjee. The speakers threw light on the need and importance of human values and selfless service towards society. Abhilash Baranwal advised students to go ahead in life with self-confidence, and also to have a sense of responsibility towards the society. He said self-confidence is the key to success. Other speakers opined that there is a dearth of good human beings and that students should inculcate good habits, adopt humane values and serve above self.

Dr Biswatosh Choudhury said that getting good numbers is not that easy and Assam University deserves special mention here since four students secured a place among the top ones in the HS examination. He also advised students to refrain from using Social Networking Sites (SNSs) unnecessarily and to use WhatsApp and other social media platforms very judiciously and sensibly.
