SHILLONG, March 17: Local beauty queen, Anborlin Syiemlieh has been selected to represent Meghalaya in the Mrs India 2018 beauty pageant which will be held in Delhi on April 1.
Addressing reporters at a press conference in the city on Saturday, Syiemlieh informed that the selection to contest in the beauty pageant in Delhi was realized after she came in the second place in the ‘Mrs Glamorous Elite’ contest which was held in Guwahati recently. She informed that on March 20, she will have to leave Shillong and head for Delhi. There will be around 40 contestants participating in the beauty pageant from across the country. “I will try my best to win the crown with an objective to bring laurels to the state of Meghalaya,” she said adding that her selection should become a motivatiol force for others to come forward and take part in such competitions. Syiemlieh, a mother of two children, said, “Earlier I had been selected to compete in a competition held in Dubai and in London. However, due to lack of funds and support I was uble to take part in those competitions.”
