Annual session of Bodo frontal organizations concludes

HOWRAGHAT, Jan 6: The annual session of Bodo frontal organizations like Kachary Samaj, Boro Sahitya Sabha (BSS), All Bodo Women Welfare Federation (ABWWF), Boro Dularai Boro Harimu Afat, Karbi Anglong district, which started from January 3, concluded peacefully on Tuesday.

The annual session was held at Howraghat Tiniali. On the closing day, in the morning the flags of four organizations of Karbi Anglong district unit – Kachary Samaj, BSS, ABWWF and Dularai Bodo Harimu Afat were unfurled jointly respectively by the presidents like Ratneswar

Basumatary, Bhupen Chandra rzary, Mrilini Hazowary and Dipen Basumatary.

Subsequently, homage was paid to martyrs by Pamphla Basumatary, vice-president, BSS, earthen light lighting programme was headed by Shasen Boro, vice president, KS, Lila Daimary, vice president, ABWWF and kul Brahma, vice president, DBHA. A felicitation programme was also organized by the Bodo frontal organizations and in the function Sarat Brahma, EM, KAAC was warmly felicitated.

After conclusion of the annual session of the respective Bodo frontal organizations, a semir on the topic ‘Challenges faced by the Bodos as a consequence of family planning” was held under the chairperson of Uttam Chandra Brahma, vice president, KS and the function was officially iugurated by Sarat Brahma, EM, KAAC. Before formal beginning of the semir the first issue of The Kachari, the mouthpiece of the Kachari Samaj was released by Sahitya Akademi award winner Auranbida Uzir. Besides, a collection of Bodo poems Gwrbwni Abad Thili composed by Ajit Basumatary, senior jourlist, was also released by Uzir.

The Sahitya Akademi award winner praised Ajit Basumatary for his exceptiol and constructive poem book. During the semir, Nipen Chandra Baglary, Principal, Langhin Pamgaon HS School, Santiram Basumatary, Lakhimai Khakhlary attended the semir as resource persons.

Besides, all the presidents and secretaries of BSS, ABSU, ABWWF, DBHA, BLT Welfare Society, Karbi Anglong District Bodo Primary Teachers’ Association (BPTA), BoGA, DubAA, UBPO, Karbi Anglong district unit were present in the semir as invited guests.
