Anomalies alleged in IAY houses allotment

GAON, April 27: The BDO of Kathiatoli block has allegedly manipulated the list of beneficiaries of IAY houses in Chankhula gram panchayat which were selected by the gram sabha for 2014-15 and included the mes of some beneficiaries after taking bribe.

The president of Chankhula gram panchayat under Kathiatoli block alleged that according to the instruction of then BDO of the block, ren Deka, the gram sabha had prepared a list and selected the mes of 110 beneficiaries and submitted to the BDO office. But Deka allegedly manipulated the list and cut-off 51 mes from the list of selected beneficiaries. He allegedly took bribe and included other beneficiaries whose mes were never included in the selected list.

The president added further that the cheques for the first installment of Rs 18,750 had been handed over to some beneficiaries which had created uproar in the panchayat.

Soon after the allocation of IAY houses to the beneficiaries, BDO Deka was transferred from Kathiatali block. The president of the gram panchayat has already submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of gaon through the Project Director of DRDA, gaon on Monday and urged for cancellation of the mes of those beneficiaries who were not included in the gram sabha’s list.
