Anomalies in construction of road alleged

GOLAGHAT, April 3: Large-scale anomalies have taken place in construction of NH-39 Telgaram to Bokial connecting road via 4 No. Rong Bong and 5 No. Rong Bong Gaon. The local public of this area alleged that sub-standard and low quality materials were used in construction of the road. Construction of the road, almost 5-km long, started three years ago.

Due to alleged apathy and negligence on the part of the PWD (R), the Telgaram to Bokial connecting road via 4 No. Rong Bong and 5 No. Rong Bong Gaon is in a deplorable condition for many years. The road is the lifeline of people under  Rong Bong Gaon Panchayat but the pathetic condition of the road has made life miserable for them. Students and patients are the worst sufferers.

The PWD has now handed the work to another contractor for completing the half-done work. But the newly-engaged contractor also repaired the road using poor quantity materials. The local people appealed to the department concerned to look into the matter and take stringent actions immediately.
