Another company loots Assam customers

GUWAHATI, April 10: New Life, a company, did collect cash ranging from Rs 600 to Rs 25,000 as security deposits from some people of the State with the promise of giving them job opportunities. Those who deposited security money were supposed to attend a training programme at its office at Zoo Road in the city on Monday. They came to the office for the training on Monday only to find the office locked.

Four owners of the company, all Mubaikars, fled the city leaving their local henchmen behind to face the wrath of the public and the police.

Seven New Life Employees – Bijison Kathar, Mril Saikia, Karabi Patgiri, Priya Devi, Lucky Kalita, Antara Bhatta and Mallika – have been arrested by the police. The police found around 100 money receipts amounting to lakhs of rupees from the customers.
