DHUBRI, June 29: International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed by 67 Bn. BSF with a day-long programme recently. As a part of the programme, rally was taken out near the battalion’s head quarter at Alomganj of Dhubri district and an awareness meeting was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya premises and Alomganj market.

Senior officials took part in the deliberation and appraised the people and students about the bad affects of drugs consumption. On the other hand, personnel of 27 Bn SSB along with teachers and students of Guwagacha and Barpeta in Barpeta district took out a rally in the village, urban, market areas and main roads. SSB personnel and students sported placards displaying messages aimed at creating awareness on the disastrous effects of drugs on individual. The gathering was addressed by the commandant SH Hrishikesh Sharma and medical officer prior to flagging off the programme.
