Anti-terrorism Day observed

SILCHAR, May 23: The Northeast Frontier Railway observed anti-terrorism day in their headquarters at Maligaon, recently. Ratan Lal, additiol general mager of the NF Railway administered all the officers and staff, to take a pledge uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings, on the occasion of the anti-terrorism day. During the programme, they pledged to fight and destruct the evil forces by abiding by the tradition of the ideals of our country which is based upon non-violence and tolerance. The day is observed every yaer, in the memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who was assassited on May 21, 1991 by Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in a suicide bomb attack. On this day, various government establishments as well as other public organizations take pledge to stand against any evil forces that may threaten the integrity, harmony and peacefulness of the tion. It is significant to mention here that, the day is aimed in spreading awareness among the people regarding the threats of violence, danger of terrorism and its effect on the tion. Various debates, lectures, semirs, symposiums and discussions are organized on this day.
