Anup Jalota releases Hindi translation of Borgeets

DIBRUGARH, March12: Well known Bhajan maestro Anup Jalota formally released the Hindi version of Borgeet, a spiritual and unique creation of the new Vaisvite movement, written by Sri Sri Srimanta Shankardev and Sri Sri Madhavdeva. All available 187 Borgeets have been translated into Hindi by renowned tea planter and writer of repute, Devi Prasad Bagrodia. He earlier translated all writings of legendary Assamese poet, dramatist and doyen of Assamese cinema, Roop Konwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwalla and Gunmala of Mahapurush Srimata Shankar Dev. At the iugural meeting organized at Shree Radhakrish Devasthan Gyanlok at Jalangar, Jalota in his speech expressed happiness for associating himself with the Borgeet, written by the great saints of Assam. "I feel proud and honour by releasing the collection of all available Borgeets," said Anup Jalota. Bagrodia said the Borgeet was a very well- designed work. The verses are placed in such a systematic order that the reader's mind is gradually covered with an aura of religion. Intertiolly renowned Assamese folk singer, Dolly Das and Madhav Krish Das presented Borgeet in Hindi which drew a round of applause from the gathering. The entire programme was aptly conducted by Associate Professor of & Head of Department of Political Science of Dibru College, Dr Ranjit Singha .
