APCC seeks reconstitution of APSCW

Our Correspondent

Itanagar, May 17: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Congress, while vehemently condemning the recent ‘illegal and arbitrary’ appointment of new body of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has demanded immediate reconstitution of the Commission. “The government should go as per the rules laid in the Constitution and must appoint the deserving APST candidate as listed by preceding panel of APSCW,” Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) said in a statement here. Criticizing the government for appointing a ‘non-APST in the fifth body of APSCW by neglecting the APST aspirant’, the party said, “Despite repeated opposition by Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS), the government has not addressed the issue which proves that practicing of anomalies and illegality has become culture of the Pema Khandu-led BJP government.”
