APCC’s Extended Executive Meet on December 19 And 21

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will be holding a two-day extended state executive meeting and a social media awareness programme under the banner of ‘Sangharsh Sammelan’ at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here on December 19 and 21 next.

Addressing reporters at Arunachal Press Club here on Monday, APCC vice-president Bosiram Siram, who is also the organizing chairman of the event, informed that the committee will come up with a roadmap and an action plan for next 100 days after holding detailed discussions on both party and state-related issues, during the two-day meet. He added that the inputs gathered from the meeting on various state-related issues will be considered and if need be added to the party’s manifesto, which will be released on a later date.

All members of the APCC’s frontal organizations, senior former leaders, party members and office bearers at the block and district level, will be taking part in the event, informed Siram. He added that AICC general secretary in-charge Arunachal Pradesh Luizinho Faleiro, AICC secretary in-charge Arunachal Pradesh Zenith Sangma, will also be taking part in the meeting and in the social media awareness programme.

Commenting on the social media awareness programme, APCC spokesperson Mina Toko, said that in today’s digital age, each and every member of the party should know about how social media works so they understand the legalities involved in it, and also to facilitate dissemination of correct information and updates at the grass root level. Not denying that political parties capitalize on social media’s reach for spreading its messages, she, however, said that this initiative is not for the upcoming election but is being organized with a long-term vision. Regarding the timing at which the programme is being organized, Mina said that this programme was already a scheduled programme and did not stem from the recent poll results in any way.
