APIC imposes pelty on Agriculture Director

Itagar, Feb 23: The Aruchal Pradesh Information Commission has imposed a pelty of Rs 25,000 on the Director of Agriculture cum Public Information Officer Hage Kanu for non-furnishing of information to an information seeker.

While imposing the pelty under section 20(1) of Right to Information Act, 2005, the APIC in a release stated that appellant Biki Mangmi on June 30, 2016 filed a petition seeking information from the Director of Agriculture cum Public Information Officer regarding fund allocation and detailed work executed, along with the mes of firms and work  order by DAO Kamsai, DAO Tezu, DAO Aalo and DAO Daporijo.

However, the Director failed to respond positively even after several notices were issued by the APIC directing him to furnish the information as sought by the information seeker, an official release informed here today.
