Appeal for peace and harmony during R–Day celebration

DIBRUGARH, January 9: The district administration is gearing up to celebrate the 66th Republic Day here on January 26 in a befitting manner.

The meeting held on Friday at the DC’s conference hall with Deputy Commissioner (DC), MS Manivann in the chair, discussed the plan and programme for celebrating the ensuing Republic Day. Senior civil and police officials, leading citizens and representatives of various organizations took part in the discussion and unimously resolved to celebrate the day organizing elaborate programmes.

Accordingly the meeting delegated the responsibilities of the events to the heads of various government departments. The Additiol Deputy Commissioner, Jogesh Baruah welcomed all and read out the proceedings of the meeting. He called upon the people to extend all forms of support in making the country’s 66th Republic Day celebration a grand success.

The Superintendent of Police, Ra Bhuyan, who graced the meeting, in his address emphasized celebrating Republic Day peacefully by maintaining law and order in the district.  Deputy Commissioner Manivann also stressed peaceful celebration of the day and called upon the people to celebrate the day with gaiety. He appealed all to maintain peace and harmony during the celebration.
