APSC cash-for-job scam: HC rejects bail plea of Rakesh Paul again

Guwahati, October 11: The Gauhati High Court today rejected the bail plea of the suspended APSC chairman Rakesh Paul, who is the prime accused of the ill-famed APSC cash-for-job scam that shocked the state 2 years ago.

Rakesh Paul who had been in judicial custody filed the petition against a case filed at the Bhangagarh Police Station.

Meanwhile, the special court of HC today heard the bail plea of the arrested ACS-APS officers Bikash Kumar Pinsa, Nishamoni Deka, and Pallavi Sharma Choudhury.

Till date 21 arrested ACS-APS officials have been granted bail.

On October 10 The Rumi Kumari Phukan bench of the Gauhati High Court has granted bail to 4 officers accused in APSC cash for job scam, they are namely

Jyotirmoi Adhikari, Hemanta Hillol Saikia,Debajit Bora and Jatindra Prasad Barua.

On October 6 the court granted bail a former Congress leader Nilamoni Sen Deka’s son Rajorshi Sen Deka, Harshajyoti Bora, and Amarjit Das.

The court on October 4 granted bail to nine officers including Cash for Job scam including Dipak Khanikar, Sudipta Goswami, Kunal Das, Rumi Saikia, Sunaina Aideu, Gitali Doley, Dilip Kumar Kalita, Sabira Imran, and Badarul Islam.
