APSCW visits mental health centre

Itagar, May 27: Observing the increased number of mental illness in and around the Capital complex and other districts, the team of Aruchal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), led by its chairperson Mitali Tingkhatra visited the mental health centre, Midpu here on Thursday.

During the visit, senior psychiatrist Dr H Panya explained in detail about the functioning of the centre and informed that the centre has capacity to keep 20 patients, 10 beds for each male and female patient, including free counseling, medicines and other helps. The commission observed that in order to make it functiol, the mental health centre requires proper facilities and infrastructure to keep the indoor patients. It was also informed that the centre is rendering continuous services here at the centre as well as at Tomo Riba General Hospital, harlagun. The APSCW assured to take up the matter to the authority concerned for further improvement in the services for the benefit of the general public.
