Itanagar, June 20: The six days tour of Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) to Tawang culminated at Bomdila with a mass gathering of Congress workers at District Congress Committee (DCC) Office here.

A condolence meeting was observed for the two activists of ‘Save Mon’, who were killed in a police firing in Tawang. Various speakers exhorted that it was time for change to welfare and development of the public and to adjure nepotism.

Addressing the gathering, APYC president Geli Ete highlighted the policies of APCC president Takam Sanjoy on the occasion. “Takam Sanjoy and AICC president Rahul Gandhi will return as a strong force to power in 2019. People of India have felt the burns of fascist, radical and policy of intolerance of the BJP government”, he said.

On the issue of demand for panchayat elections in Tawang, he said that polls should be conducted as it is the agency which empowers the rural masses. Geli Ete told that Congress has shutdown the doors of the runaway MLAs of Tawang district once and for all. “Congress has given everything to them but they have played dirty politics and have been blaming the party,” he added.

Earlier, the team visited the the 14th Guru Thegtse Rimpoche at Tawang and took his blessing. DCC president Tawang Sange Phunstok accompanied the team with more than 100 Congress workers and presented token of gratitude to the poor and downtrodden people of Tawang. The tour was intended to inspire the youth to be involved in main stream politics and policy making.
