Arms Licence Holders Asked to Get Unique Identification Number (UIN)

TANGLA: All arms licence holders in Udalguri district have been asked to approach the Udalguri District Commissioner’s office along with the necessary original documents for creation of their Unique Identification Number (UIN) for their respective arms licenses which will be updated in the National Database of Arms Licenses system. This was stated in a press communique. Arms licence holders have been asked to approach the office with the relevant documents before 15-01-19. Arms Rules, 2016 mandatorily requires UIN (Unique Identification Number) to be noted on the arms licence issued by the licencing authority. Any arms licence without the UIN is not a valid licence. UIN is to be issued to a licensee and not to a licence.
