Army holds mega interactive forum

Tezpur, April 1: In keeping with the Army’s initiative of interacting with their veteran community, the local Army formation organized an interactive forum for Veer ris, widows and disabled soldiers of Sonitpur district at Phulbari Military Garrison on Sunday. The occasion was attended by numerous army officials, members of the local Zila Sainik Board, chairperson of AWWA Missamari and chairperson of AWWA Gajraj Corps, who was the chief guest. In this interactive forum, various initiatives for the welfare of Veer ris and widows were highlighted. The officials told the gathering about the efforts being undertaken by the Adjutant Generals branch of the Army, Central and State Governments with respect to implementation of various schemes.

 The important highlight of the forum was the veteran community’s interaction with the Grievance Cell as well as defence and civil administration authorities involved in their welfare. A medical camp was also organized at the venue.
