Around 59 Kickboxers leave for Federation Cup

SHILLONG: Around 59 Kickboxers including Officials of Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA) left Shillong this morning for the WAKO India National Kickboxing Federation Cup – 2019 that will start from Sunday organised by Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association Maharashtra in Pune under the aegis of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation.

At the warm send off tea party yesterday at the Main Hall Hotel Assembly, Dr. Vikash Gupta, the Adviser of MSKA along with other speakers including Lorenzo Pearson Warjri highlighted the importance of any games and sports activities in today’s world now where sports have become an agenda for employment generation, skill development, healthcare as well as an entertainment for tourisms development.

Hence the speakers stressed on the need to take sporting activities as a career now as well as to channelising the youth energy in the right perspectives. MSKA wishes all the athletes the best.

At the same time MSKA felicitated 3 bronze medalists who represent NEHU kickboxing team for the first time in the History of Kickboxing in Meghalaya with Hameshaniah Suiam below 57kg Point Fighting Men of St. Edmund’s College Shillong, Ioonis Mynsong below 63 kg Men Kick Light Men of Kiang Nongbah Governmentt College Jowai and Belldona Pakyntein below 48kg Low Kick Women of St. Anthony’s College Shillong for their achievement at the All India Inter University Kickboxing Championship held at Andhra Pradesh University Visakhapatnam recently.
