Arrest on molestation charge in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Discussion for a Raas Leela at Ulubari Higher Secondary School’s open field was in process by the Brihattar Guwahati Sarbojoni Raas Mahotsav Udjapan Samittee, when a female member of the group complained of harassment and brutality against her. The incident occurred at 7.30 in the evening on Sunday. Following the alleged molestation, the Brihattar Guwahati Sarbojoni Raas Mahotsav Udjapan Samittee along with the victim, lodged an FIR at Paltan Bazaar Police Station. Two cases have been registered: 1301/ 18 and 1304/ 18 under section 354 / 354 D (1) (i) (ii) / 379/ 511/ 507/ 509 IPC. The police forces have managed to capture the molester Imtazur Rahman Hazrika, 40, who is a resident of Machkhowa. He was produced before the CJM Court here in the city and the court has sent him to Judicial Custody today.
