Itanagar: The stage has been set for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, with the State Government making all-out preparations including elaborate security arrangements to welcome him.

The road from Raj Bhavan helipad to Indira Gandhi Park through which the convoy of the PM will move, has been re-carpeted while both sides of the NH-415 have been decorated with hoardings displaying all the flagship programme of the Centre under the NDA regime.

Security forces on Friday morning conducted rehearsals in the road through which Modi will move to the main venue. This will be the third visit of Modi as the Prime Minister to the Himalayan State. He had also visited twice earlier during 2014 for election campaigns. The Prime Minister, who would arrive here in the morning from Guwahati, will inaugurate several ambitious projects and lay foundation stones of many vital projects, official sources informed.

Modi would lay the foundation stone of the Green Field Airport at Hollongi near here.

The ambitious airport project in the State has been pending for last several years due to controversies over site selection. Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in the country without a full-fledged airport. From Itanagar, Modi is scheduled to visit Assam and Tripura.
