Arunachal Governor for specific plans to promote tourism

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra has pleaded with the Centre to work out on specific plans to promote tourism in the state.

The Governor who called on union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons in the national capital on Thursday, emphasized on holistic approach in harnessing the tourism potential of the state.

Mishra requested the minister for commissioning eco friendly, tourist friendly tourism and socially beneficial projects in Arunachal Pradesh, an official communiqué informed here today.

The Governor who recently visited the sacred Parsuram Kund in Lohit district and had a meeting with head priest, impressed upon the minister for holistic development of the Kund to promote spiritualism and age-old values, while keeping the Indian culture and traditions of the Kund undisturbed.

Mishra said that the need was to facilitate the aged pilgrims and women to perform their ‘Pooja’ with convenience and safety, so that they can carry back good experience from the pilgrimage. He suggested for appropriate provision of the holy water in well approachable kunds and also with special care for the exclusiveness for women pilgrims, the communiqué added.
