Arunachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Kaling Tayeng lauds officials for successful polls in State

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kaling Tayeng has thanked all the officials who were engaged in the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections of the State and the people for their participation.

“I thank all the election officials of the State who had taken part staring from DCs, SPs, down to police and polling personnel. Because of various factors in many districts, the process went on over the course of the two months in the re-polls and fresh polls. From the side of the Election Commission, we are grateful to all of them,” Tayeng told newsmen here.

The CEO also appreciated the voters for taking part in the festival of democracy in large numbers.

“We are grateful to the voters who turned up in huge numbers to take part in the democratic process to elect lawmakers to the Lok Sabha as well as to the State Legislative Assembly,” he stated.

Talking about elections, the CEO said that the electoral process in the State which started with the first phase of elections on April 11, has been finally completed early in Saturday morning after counting of Dumporijo Assembly constituency got over. Due to various issues and single counting hall, it took almost two days to declare the results of the Assembly constituency, he added.

“Once the formal notification for the winning candidates is brought, it will be notified in the State Gazette and copies submitted to the office of Governor, the Chief Secretary and after it the process of establishment of next government will take place,” Tayeng added.
