Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu lays foundation of High Court building

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh to get its very own high Court building and the foundation to the same was laid by the Arunachal Chief Minister Prema Khandu in a joyful atmosphere in Itanagar.

Khandu says, "It's a dream come true to have a high court building in the state after 18 years since the permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court in Itanagar was inaugurated here in the year 2000 exactly on this very day. I am hopeful that the justice delivery system will be smoothened and fast-tracked by the coming up of this high court building."

The Chief Minister also added further that there will be no dependence on the Centre for the resources required in the construction of the high court building as the entire cost will be spared by the state government. Khandu also says that they are taking a two-year target for the completion of the high court in the state.

Stressing on the need to have a very own high court in the state, Khandu added, "For development to pick up the pace, the state needs to have efficient justice delivery system and law and order in place." he also mentioned the remarkable improvements in the law and order scenario of the state since the last 2 years. Expressing his happiness on the state law system, he said that the bandh culture of the state too has come to a halt now. with the bandh culture not being practices much now, the state and its people are being more active.

The district legal service authority based in 17 districts of the state are conducting Lok Adalat for solving the judicial issues of the common masses and this has contributed a lot towards the maintenance of law and order in the state. The good news is that about 4000 such cases are being disposed through the Lok Adalats.
