Assam Badminton Association (ABA) to work on Prakash Padukone’s suggestions

GUWAHATI: It’s a rare opportunity which the officials of the Assam Badminton Association (ABA) grabbed.

The officials of the ABA met legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone during his two-day visit to the city and it is learnt that he has offered valuable suggestions for the development of the game in the State.

During the tour he also met Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in his office and discussed several matters related to sports.

A source from the Assam Badminton Association today informed the media that the visit of Padukone will definitely have a positive impact on the development of badminton in the State. “ Padukone is a legendary figure. He gave us valuable inputs on various aspects of the game during his short stay in Guwahati. We’ll definitely try to follow his suggestions for the benefit of the local players,” said the source.

It has been learnt that during this visit Padukone also met Badminton Association of India (BAI) president Himanta Biswa Sarma and discussed several subjects for the promotion of the game in the State and in the country as well. Sarma is also the president of the ABA. However, ABA sources refused to divulge details of the discussion.
