Assam boy Tanmoy Chakraborty invents earthquake detection machine, NASA invites to participate in competition

Guwahati: Tanmoy Chakraborty of Lumding, Assam has brought laurels to the state as he has been selected to be part of Young Scientist Competition organized by NASA.

A student of Class 12, Tanmoy has invented the machine which would be able to detect earthquake 48-72 hours in advance. Tanmoy who is the son of Topa Chakraborty who is a school teacher and Bapan Chakraborty has invented the machine to detect earthquake two-three days before has got a chance to go to NASA to participate in the Young Scientist Competition.

Tanmoy has also received an appreciation letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union minister Smriti Irani. He is currently studying in Class XII from Bikash Vidyaniketan at Visakhapatnam.

He will visit California on May 28 to participate in the competition.
