Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha to launch massive protest against Bill on Jan 28

Guwahati: Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha on Wednesday stated in a press statement that the tea tribe organizations of Assam is going to stage a massive protest on January 28 against the BJP Government for allegedly dividing the tea tribe communities of Assam by proposing ST status to only 36 tea tribe communities out of 108 and imposing burden of the alleged Hindu migrants from Bangladesh over Assam by implementing CAB' 16.

The Tea Tribe communities also observed on Wednesday as 'Protarona Diwas' at Chabua blocking National Highway 37.

In the press statement, former MLA and vice president of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha, Raju Sahu alleged that the BJP-led Government had been trying to divide the tea tribes communities of the state by proposing ST status to only 36 tea tribes communities out of 108.

The tea tribe communities also termed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP Government as an opportunist and alleged that the BJP government is trying to impose the burden of Hindu migrants over the state of Assam by implementing CAB' 2016.

They also claimed that the tea tribe communities have been opposing the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016.

It may be mentioned that the tea tribe communities is all set to launch massive protest rallies against the bill at the National Highways and PWD roads in the state on Monday (January 28) and burning down the copies of the most debated Citizenship Bill.

Sahu also urged all the tea tribe communities in Assam to join in the protest in their respective districts and place on the above mentioned day.
