Assam Congress demands CBI probe in appointment of P&RD and DIPR Department, Submits Memorandum to Governor

Guwahati: A team of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday visited Governor Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi and submitted a memorandum demanding CBI probe in the alleged anomalies in the appointment of P&RD and the Department of Information & Public Relation under Assam Government.

APCC in the memorandum had alleged that majority of the candidates who were appointed in the P&RD Department are relatives and close associates of Assam P&RD Minister Naba Kumar Doley, including senior leaders of BJP and RSS.

It may be mentioned that appointments to 945 posts were issued after a written examination conducted by a company named 'Bloom Electronics'. The results were declared on March 5, 2019 and the candidates were directed to join the job on March 6 at around 10 am, as stated in the memorandum.

The memorandum further alleges that there were no proper verifications of the documents of the candidates who were appointed on the department, signifying the appointments were made through unfair means.

On the other hand, there are reports stating the Department of Information &Public Relations had also violated guidelines by appointing 64 candidates through unfair means. The candidates were reported as close associates and relatives of senior BJP and RSS leaders, informed the APCC in the memorandum.

Meanwhile, there are allegations by the certain section state organizations that the company 'Bloom Electronics' which conducted the examination belongs to BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav.
