Assam Gorkha Sammillan organizes football tourment

Silchar, Feb 13: Assam Gorkha Sammillan (AGS) regiol Committee, Lakhipur sub branch, has organized their 3rd football tourment on Sunday at Lakhipur Tea playground at Binkandie Ghat. The programme was iugurated by Tej rayan Sharma, AGS, regiol committee.

The programme began with hoisting of the flag by Sumitra Lama, president, sub branch, Lakhipur, in the presence of Rupa Chhetry, general secretary and chief guest Pradip Rai. This tourment has been organized for the development of the foot, to promote football for the next generation and to unite all. A total number of 12 teams participated in the tourment.

The winning team, Harigar football team, had the last laugh in the tourment while Dholai East football team, Gangagar were the runners-up. Among others, present included Rimi Paul, chairperson, Lakhipur Municipal Board, Sangita Gurung, ward commissioner, Babul Hore, secretary, District Sports Association, Silchar, Thoiba Singha and Mukesh Pandey.
