Assam Government handed over cheque of Rs 20 lakh to Maneshwar Basumatary's family in Tamulpur

Guwahati: On Friday, the Government of Assam handed over the sanctioned letter amounting Rs 20 lakh to the martyred CRPF soldier Maneshwar Basumatary's wife in Tamulpur under Baksa District.

Martyred CRPF jawan, Maneshwar Basumatary along with other 44 CRPF jawans had died on February 14 in a shameful terror attack by Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir valley.

It may be mentioned that a cheque amounting Rs 20 lakh was handed over to martyred CRPF soldier Maneshwar Basumatary's wife Sunmati Basumatary in the presence of Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami, State PHE Minister Rihon Daimary and Tamulpur MLA Emanuel Muchahary including other BJP leaders at Kolbari village in Tamulpur.

Earlier, Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal had announced an ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh for Maneshwar’s family on February 15, 2019.
