Assam Jatiya Bidyalay Is A Movement: Mukesh Sahai

GUWAHATI: The Annual Sports Week of Assam Jatiya Bidyalay starts with a spectacular parade where twelve troops (320 students) from class VI-XI participated. Former DGP of Assam Mukesh Sahai was present as the chief guest of the programme. After receiving the ceremonial guard of honor in the March-Past competition, the former DGP Mukesh Sahai praises the initiative taken by the school to engage its students in sportive activity which he mentions ‘a great support’ in the all-round development of an individual. In his speech, he emphasizes the importance of one’s mother tongue. The event began with the hoisting of the school flag by the Principal Ghanashyam Medhi. The sports week flame was lit by torchbearers Darshana Dutta Choudhury and Mihirjyoti Sarma, the best players of the previous year. The programme was conducted by Aparajita Dutta and Dhruba Sarma, senior teachers of the school. Jayanta Deka and Kunjar Das are the convenors of this annual sports week which will conclude on January 29.
