Assam: Nine incidents of fire caused by crackers during Dewali

GUWAHATI: As per data available with the State Fire & Emergency Service department, during the two days of Dewali on November 6 and November 7, the state witnessed as many as nine incidents of fire which were caused by bursting of crackers. Six of these incidents took place in Guwahati city alone.

As per records with the State Fire & Emergency Service department, on November 6, four incidents took place. The incidents occurred at Gobardhana at Chandrapur, Bagharbori, Kahilipara 4th APBn , all in Guwahati city and at Taganapara in Dhemaji district.

On November 7 as many as 5 incidents took place. The locations are near SB Deurah College, Lachai Path at Bishnupur, Milaon Chowk near Bagageswari temple in Guwahati. The two other incidents of fire took place at Dohati in Barpeta district and Rowta Kalibari in Udalguri district.
