Assam Police Crackdown Yields Arrests Across State

GUWAHATI: Following a directive to the Assam DGP from the Chief Minister, the police swooped down and arrested 16 people involved in cattle smuggling, rescued 13 livestock and seized four dumpers carrying sand and stones, besides incriminating materials since last night. Dhubri and Dakshin Salmara police conducted joint operations in the two districts on Wednesday, arrested 12 cattle smugglers and their accomplices, rescued 13 livestock and seized incriminating materials. Guwahati police also arrested four cattle smugglers. Dhemaji police seized four dumpers carrying sand and stone from the district on Tuesday night.
