Assam Police Keeping Close Surveillance on Suspected Hizbul Sympathizers in Hojai

Guwahati/Hojai: Following the arrest of terrorist Qamar-uz-Zaman the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday, Hojai Superintendent of Police, Ankur Jain had revealed before the media on Friday that the Pakistan based terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen have got few more sympathizers who are trying spread its tentacles in the region.

SP Jain also mentioned that they are currently under the police surveillance.

Speaking to media, SP Jain said, “Assam Police had identified few youths from Hojai district and some other parts of the state that are helping and supporting the Pakistan based Islamist militant group Hizbul Mujahideen. We have kept them under our surveillance.”

SP also expressed his concern saying there might be few more youth who are outside the police surveillance and are helping the militant organization to spread its tentacles in the region.

The statement of the SP has come after the arrest of two cadres of the Hizbul Mujahideen Pakistan based terrorist organization from UP and Nilbagan area of Hojai district.
