ITANAGAR: The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles undertook various medical activities in the months of August to October 2018 (which included five medical camps at Kheti, Kunsa, Lahu, Nginu, Tutnyu and Noglo villages).

In its continuous efforts to reach out the needy and medically deprived section of far-flung border villages of northeast along the Indo-Myanmar border, Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Dao Division organized a medical camp at Village Noglo under Laju circle of Tirap district on October 12 last, an official release informed here on Monday.

A medical team led by Chief Medical Officer contributed towards the successful execution of the camp. People residing in nearby villages were also informed in advance about the conduct of the event.

The inauguration of the medical camp was done by the Commandant of Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles in the presence of Rajas, GBs, veterans, and villagers.

The team of doctors and paramedical staff showing unmatched professionalism during the camp and treated a total of 182 persons (male 48, female 72 and 62 children) of the region and distribute medication to the diagnosed ones on the spot.

The Raja and gaon bura of Noglo village on behalf of the villagers and nearby villages as well as the civil administration lauded the noble gesture of “The Assam Rifles” and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the medical camp at their doorstep.

The commandant called upon the general public to support the cause of security for prosperity and progress of the region. He assured the general public of his cooperation and sincere efforts in bringing development and prosperity to the region, the release added.
