Assam Rifles organizes event at Kohima orphanage and Destitute Home

Kohima: The 3 (Naga Hills) Battalion of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ Inspector General organized a special event at the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home to celebrate its 46th foundation day on Tuesday. A total of 105 students and staff members were in attendance. The event was celebrated with enthusiasm as staff members and students got together and put up entertaining acts and musicals shows. The Kohima Battalion provided tents and cooking utensils for the event.

In this regard, on April 15, a team of doctors of the battalion visited the orphanage and offered medical checkup to the students and staff members and also distributed free medicines, stated a press release. The foundation of Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home was laid by late Zaputuo-ii Angami on April 16, 1973 with an aim to provide a home for orphan children.
