Assam to participate in National level Deaf Chess Championship

GUWAHATI: Assam will participate in the National level Chess Championship for Deaf in Chennai. The competition will begin from January 27. It may be mentioned here that Assam Sports Council of the Deaf recently sent a state team in the National Chess Championship of Deaf which was held in Jaipur. Assam team, comprised of 14 players, played in both junior and senior category and achieved 13 places. Jamin Kro, the general secretary of the Council, said that the players from Assam can perform much better if proper facilities are provided to them.
