Assessment on to find potato price anomaly

GUWAHATI, May 18: Following a directive issued by the Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal on the artificial price rise of potato and onion, a team of Food and Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs has been scrutinizing various markets across the city to unearth the anomaly. The team is dispensed to inquire the variance between the wholesale and the retail prices in various markets and will continue until a stabled price is restored. During the assessment, the team has observed hiked prices on potato and onion at Ganesh Mandir market in Ganeshguri. Meanwhile, the city traders have appealed the consumers to take stock of the wholesale and retail price variance before buying.
