Assistant Commissioner, Gohpur (ACS) Sanjan Phukan officer suspended

GUWAHATI: Assistant Commissioner, Gohpur (ACS) Sanjan Phukan has been placed under suspension under Rule 6(1)(C) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964 with immediate effect. Orders by the Governor notification issued to this effect on November 20, 2018 say "it is reported that Sanjan Phukan, ACS, Asstt Commissioner Gohpur has given his confessional statement involving himself and others in procuring the job of ACS through Assam Public Service Commission and his statement has been recorded under Section 161 CrPC and the Hon'ble Special Court has also considered him as an Approver in the case on the basis of petition submitted by Mr Sanjan Phukan, ACS. This prima facie shows his involvement in a criminal offence on the matter relating to Dibrugarh PS Case No. 936/16."
