ASTC resumes bus services from Howraghat

HOWRAGHAT, February 22: The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has again started its bus services from Howraghat in Karbi Anglong from Monday. The ASTC has resumed the bus services after 18 years.

The ASTC bus service was flagged off officially by MAC, KAAC, Chandra Tamang in presence of Deuri Lekthe, chairman, Howraghat Town Committee (HTC), Ashok Hasnu, vice-chariman, HTC, ward commissioners like Sarjeng Engti, Ratan Saha, Nirmala Bora and senior officials of ASTC.

During the flagging-off function, distinguished persons of entire Howraghat area, gaonburas and a large number of people were also present. The bus service was resumed for the people of Howraghat under the initiative of HAD Minister, Kharsing Engti, said Chandra Tamang. Deuri Lekthe, chairman, HTC also lauded the initiative taken up by Engti.

Buses will be available from Howraghat to gaon everyday from 7.30 am and from gaon to Howraghat at 3.30 pm.

Meanwhile, the people of Howraghat have demanded ASTC bus services from Howraghat to Guwahati.
